Event Description:  

Come join us in our professional ceramics studio and have fun, relax, and get creative! No matter what prior experience you have in ceramics, you will complete at least one plate, mug, vase or box with the support of our Art School faculty! 

In this 2-hour handbuilding workshop, you will learn easy to follow slab construction techniques. At the end of the workshop, participants will select a glaze and Art School faculty will bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire the pieces after the workshop. Two to three weeks later the finished pieces will be ready for pick up by the organizer.

Event Itinerary: 

1. Upon arrival guests will be introduced to their ceramics instructor (s) – 1 instructor per 10 people.
2. After getting settled in, the instructor(s) will introduce the group to the materials, forms and techniques to create a unique piece of pottery.
3. The instructor(s) will demonstrate the handbuilding techniques for slab construction.
4. Participants will create their pieces with the guidance of the instructor(s). 
5. The instructor(s) will walk the group through guided instructions to ensure everyone completes at least one piece in the two hours.
6. Participants select a glaze and Art School faculty will bisque fire, glaze and glaze fire the pieces after the workshop.
7. Two to three weeks later the finished pieces will be ready for pick up by the organizer.

What You Will Make / Go Home With: 

Each guest will create:

At least one plate, mug, vase or box that is ready to be fired and glazed after the workshop.

Drinks and food are not included with the event, however, the organizer can provide them in our gallery next to the ceramics studio.

Our Art School faculty are professional artists and all have experience teaching students of all levels. We are an encouraging, fun loving team that provides our students with a combination of education and exploration.
