Event Description:

Listen. Smell. Touch. Taste.

Engage the Senses on an unforgettable journey.

Dinners in the Dark are multi-course meals eaten while blindfolded. Without sight, diners’ other senses are heightened. Smells, textures and tastes all become more intense. Arrive at our door, don a blindfold and let us take you on an unforgettable ride.

Things to Know:

  • Diners wear comfortable blindfolds throughout the event. The dining room is not dark.
  • Menus are secret until the end of the meal so naturally guests have fun guessing which food and wine is on the plate and in the glass.
  • Any dietary restrictions can be accommodated. When you purchase your tickets, please reach out to CourseHorse for any food allergies, or restrictions.
  • Pricing includes food, wine, tax and gratuity).
  • On arrival, we give you an orientation outside and answer questions before leading you into the dining room with your blindfold on.

About the Venue:

Abigail's Kitchen is a 30-seat restaurant located on a historic block of MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village. French doors look out onto beautiful 1800s townhouses. Prep is done on counter height butcher block tables in the dining area before we head to the kitchen to cook.

Served at the Venue:

Local beers & wines (may rotate, common examples below):

  1. Shinn Estate Coalescence
  2. NV Red Blend
  3. Brooklyn Lager

I loved it all! The sounds the tastes the courses were awesome. I do think some of my food had a touch of cream or something that I listed as a sensitivity, but it was all very tasty. If there was anything about the experience I would change, I’d say that if we are supposed to wait outside in the wintertime, we should know about it so we don’t end up arriving early and waiting so long in the cold. Anyway, thank you Abigail and staff you were all so kind and accommodating!

It was a fantastic experience. An opportunity to try to enhance other senses but the sight in a safe environment. Staff very kind and professional and I had the plus to benefit from a meditation moment. Relaxing experience, enjoyable and unforgettable. That was a present’s birthday from my daughter Sissy and as usual her great taste for the good things was proved once more.

Very nice experience!!
Food was delicious and eating in the dark certainly improves one's sense of taste and sound. Very well organized and executed. We appreciated that our dietary restrictions were so easily accommodated. The only con was that we were expecting to get out of there in 2 hours (at 10:30pm after starting at 8:30pm) but ultimately left about 11:45pm.

Best experience ever!!! It was exciting and a truly experience being able to figure out what were you eating and how to get around the table and restaurant with your eyes covered. Totally recommended, eyes closed :)
A very cool experience. Abigail did a fantastic job of igniting the other 4 senses with fantastic local food and paired wine. Highly recommended, and can’t wait to try it again with friends

We enjoyed our experience. The food and wine were great. It was creative but you could still guess what you were eating. And the blindfolds were comfortable once you get used to it! We will be back for a regular wine/cheese dinner.
Chef and servers were unbelievably kind. The experience was unique. I would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks so much!

I went there for diner in the dark. Pros: - food is really good - it is a fun experience Cons: - Omg the wait between each dish is soooooo looong. Seriously, starting at 7:00pm, at 9:00pm we only had the very first dish. - no big surprise in the plate, I was hoping for more creativity. I don't really see what is the point of serving expected dished / ingredients. Only the palate cleanser was a surprise (that's just one thing) - they make a big deal of wearing the mask at all time. I don't think that is necessary
