Description

Event Description:

One of our top wine educators just published a book and enjoys presenting “Three Ways Consumers Are Approaching Wine All Wrong.” When it comes to consumer behavior in relation to wine, many people are incorporating learnings that have been passed down by family members, colleagues, mentors and, often times, mirror the behavior seen in movies, on television or written about in the wine media. When they do that, they often fail to make the wine experience about them, their likes, their preferences and their circumstances. Wine is very personal and very individual, so the discussion will revolve around three major pitfalls that consumers encounter:

  1. Believing that price directly relates to quality.
  2. Not getting to know their personal palate
  3. Trying to learn everything about wine all at once

This discussion will provide tips to help alter those beliefs, behaviors and approaches. The overarching goal of the presentation is to make wine more accessible, more approachable and more fun by helping to empower the audience to view wine through a new or different lens.

Event Itinerary:

  1. We'll begin with a greeting and introductions
  2. We'll get into the content of discussing wine & how to approach it
  3. At the end we'll have time for some Q&A

About the Instructor:

Charles Springfield is a NYC-based certified sommelier, wine educator and the author of “The Less Is More Approach to Wine.” With a goal of democratizing wine for the enjoyment of the masses, he specializes in matching the right wines with the right people and the right occasions: teaching wine classes, hosting wine events and promoting overall wine appreciation.

He believes that when equipped with the proper information, wine lovers can feel more confident and empowered to make decisions that are better suited for their own personal enjoyment — not what someone tells them they should like or drink.
