Event Description: 

During this lightweight cooking experience (but heavy on the social experience and connection), attendees will take a trip around the culinary world of Italy and get schooled by professionally-licensed fresh mozzarella and pasta-making chefs, spending two hours learning how to make and (and taste, duh!) the freshest mozzarella and pasta you'll find on the entire island of Manhattan. 

Attendees gain hands-on experience from the cream of the pasta-making crop, all the while learning about the incredible history of fresh mozzarella and pasta, and drinking unlimited wine. 

Event Itinerary: 

  • You'll get a quick demonstration of how to make both pasta dough and fresh mozzarella from home, and then you'll be able to participate in making your very own mozzarrella and fresh ricotta-stuffed tortelloni and fettuccine pasta (which you'll take home)
  • After you make your own ball of fresh mozzarella, you'll be able to finish the dish off with thin slices of imported proscuitto, an heirloom tomato salad with basil and chunks of Parmigiana Reggiano, extra virgin olive oil, and important balsamic vinegar.

Other Things Included: 

  • To kick the event off, you'll have a wonderfully refreshing mixed green salad with a creamy goat cheese & walnuts
  • You'll finish this experience off with the most yummy dessert ever: a delicious cinnamon walnut pastry prepared by our very own chefs (plus freshly-baked loaves of ciabatta bread served through the evening)!  
  • To add some much needed protein to this over-the-top culinary experience, we will also serve up some fire-roasted chiecken skewers seasoned with freshly-squeezed lemons and oregano and a heaping portion of handmade tortelloni served with our homemade broccoli cream sauce.

About the Instructor: 

Artisanal cheese-making expert and New York native Max Schwartzman, who learned how to make fresh mozzarella from some of NYC’s finest cheese establishments like Agata & Valentina, Campbell Cheese, and Mekelburg’s, will lead the cheese-making portion of your experience.  

Bronwen Kinzler-Britton, who is a Texas-born chef living in NYC, traded her 9-5 for a career in the food industry, and loves all things pasta and pizza-related, will teach you how to make fresh pasta. She has worked at some of Brooklyn’s favorites Paulie Gee's and Misi, where she honed her Italian cooking skills that she’s ready to share with you and your group.

Giorgo Katrantzos has more than fifteen years experience in hospitality and has held managerial positions at Walt Disney, Morton's Steakhouse, and BareBurger. He loves all things pasta and pizza-related and is ready to share his Italian cooking skills with you.

About the Venue: 

This event will take place in a private space either in the historic South Street Seaport or Hudson Yards (pending group preference and availability)

Cancellation Policy

This provider allows for cancellations with a full refund to occur 2 weeks or more in advance of the event. Cancelling within a window of less than 2 weeks will result in an inability to be refunded.

Changes Policy:

Flexible: You will be able to make changes to your group size up until 72 hours as long as you meet the provider minimum. You will also have up until this period to make additional accommodations for the event
