Description

Learn the beautiful art of modern calligraphy hand lettering -- and be on your way to lettering everything from envelopes to art pieces!

In this beginner-level class, your instructor Margaret Fu of Wispy Letters will begin by walking you through the basics of modern calligraphy while guiding you as you practice writing using worksheets. She'll help as you begin developing your own personal lettering style, and finally, you'll create your own hand-lettered art piece, or greeting cards.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the basic elements of modern calligraphy and practice writing the alphabet 
  • Begin to develop your own lettering style
  • Practice writing words and phrases
  • Make finished piece(s) including an art print and/or gift cards
Cost includes the use of all necessary tools and materials.

Important Note:

In accordance with current NYC requirements, all students attending in-person workshops at Brooklyn Craft Company will be required to show proof of at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine upon arrival.

Cancellation Policy

No Cancellations or Refunds: This provider does not offer a full refund for a cancellation in any case. If you can no longer commit to the event, we will work with the provider to try to secure a portion of your funds back, but in most cases you will not be refunded at all.

Changes Policy:

Super Strict: You will be able to make changes to your group size up until 1 month as long as you meet the provider minimum. You will also have up until this period to make additional accommodations for the event

I had a great time in this Modern Calligraphy course. Margaret Fu was patient and informative, giving everyone individual attention and assistance. The class was easy-going and went by fast. We left with practice materials, useful tips, ink, a nib, and a nib holder. I would definitely recommend this class to others.
