Description
If you’ve ever eaten a fresh, hot doughnut, you know that they are one of the most delicious pastries around. In this hands-on private workshop, your group will make cornmeal cake doughnuts from scratch with a professional chef in a live, interactive virtual class.
Follow along with the instructor through the entire process, from mixing the dough to cutting and frying your doughnuts. At the end, we’ll glaze and sugar-coat them and finish the class by enjoying your delicious, homemade confections.
Materials Needed to Participate Fully:
(Get materials shipped to participants with our all-inclusive doughnut making workshop.)
- 1 ¾ cup sugar
- 1 ½ - 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 cups + 2 Tbs. all-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Kosher salt
- Vanilla extract
- 1 48 oz. container canola, vegetable, corn, or safflower oil
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg, optional
- Cardamom, optional
- 7 large eggs
- ¾ cup (6 oz.) sour cream
- 4 oz. unsalted butter
- 3-4 Tbs. milk, buttermilk, cranberry juice, lemon juice, or maple syrup
- Spider Strainer
- Cutters
- 3 sheet trays
- Dutch oven or deep sided pot for frying
- Stand mixer with hook & paddle, hand mixer, or wooden spoon
- Spatula
- Medium bowls for glaze & doughnut sugar
- Frying or candy thermometer (optional)
- Sifter
- Whisk
- Rolling pin
- Ring cutters
- Plastic wrap
- Parchment
- Draining rack or paper towels
- Piping bag (18” or more is ideal) with ¼”-¾” star tip (or can use a ziplock baggie with no tip in a pinch)
Cancellation Policy:
- We cannot provide refunds for events where materials have been shipped.
- Cancel your event for free if you provide at least a 2-week notice.
- Cancellations less than 2 weeks out will result in a fee of 50% of the minimum deposit amount.
- If you don't know your final headcount, place a hold on your date by booking the minimum group size (10 people). We'll collect the full payment after you finalize headcount.
- We host events on Zoom and can accommodate other platforms.
- We do not permit or provide event recordings. Our events are best enjoyed as live interactions.
- If you'd like to customize your event, additional fees may apply.
Pricing
- $420 for up to 10 people (includes cost of host/instructor. If you'd like us to provide materials, book here)
- $20 per person thereafter
- If you don't know your group size, select "I don't know" in the group size field to pay the minimum deposit and secure your date. We'll finalize your payment when you've finalized your headcount
