In this interactive, hands-on virtual class, a professional chef instructor will walk you through the basics of making your own sushi at home, from rice to rolls. 

You will learn about sushi rice, hand rolls, cut rolls, nigiri, spicy tuna or salmon, crunch rolls, basic knife cuts and fish basics. 

Materials Needed to Participate Fully:

  • 2 cups sushi rice (can substitute arborio in a pinch)
  • ⅓ cup unseasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ Tbs. salt
  • 2 Tbs. white sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbs. black sesame seeds
  • 1 pack nori (7-10 sheets)
  • ½ cup Panko breadcrumbs (also can have gluten-free option)
  • Packets soy sauce
  • Packets wasabi
  • 2 Tbs. pickled ginger
  • Packets Japanese mayonnaise
  • Single Serve Matcha to drink with your rolls
  • 1 medium-sized cucumber 
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 bunch scallions
  • 5 oz. salmon (skin-on to make salmon skin) or sushi-grade tuna
  • 1-2 pieces imitation crabmeat/crab stick
  • Reusable Chopsticks with travel pouch 1 set
  • Bamboo rolling mat
  • Medium-sized saucepan with lid
  • Clean kitchen towel
  • Plate and bowl
  • Sharp chef’s knife
  • Cutting board
  • Rubber spatula
  • Spoon

Cancellation Policy:

  • We cannot provide refunds for events where materials have been shipped. 
  • Cancel your event for free if you provide at least a 2-week notice. 
  • Cancellations less than 2 weeks out will result in a fee of 50% of the minimum deposit amount. 

Additional Notes:

  • If you don't know your final headcount, place a hold on your date by booking the minimum group size (10 people). We'll collect the full payment after you finalize headcount.
  • We host events on Zoom and can accommodate other platforms. 
  • We do not permit or provide event recordings. Our events are best enjoyed as live interactions.
  • If you'd like to customize your event, additional fees may apply.  


  • $420 for up to 10 people (Includes cost of host/instructor. If you'd like us to provide materials book here.)
  • $20 per person thereafter
  • If you don't know your group size, select "I don't know" in the group size field to pay the minimum deposit and secure your date. We'll finalize your payment when you've finalized your headcount.
  • If you're booking multiple events or for a group over 50, contact us for custom staffing and pricing.
